As well as a 40 round magazine, the Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster features a trigger lock, tactical rails, ambidextrous magazine release, easy-load magazine and flip-up front and rear sights.
No more fiddling around trying to make your Nerf Rival blaster automatic, Nerf has done it for you. This is a big blaster with huge fire power and is sure to put a smile on any teenage boys face and probably even his dad!
The Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster and the Nerf Rival Atlas were designed to keep teenagers, age 14-years and up, interested in the Nerf brand and was one of the most exciting toys released last year. The new Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 is the first fully automatic blaster in the Nerf Rival stable.
When you hold down the trigger, you quickly empty the blaster’s large capacity 40-round magazine and to power the blaster’s auto-feed mechanism you will have to install six D-sized batteries. So, when it’s primed and ready to fire, this blaster has some serious grunt.
But, despite its seemingly unnecessary power, according to Hasbro, the owner of the Nerf brand, you need have no fear because the foam ball the gun shoots will not do any physical harm.
As you have probably already guessed, the Rival range of blasters stands well above other Nerf guns for their accuracy, range and speed and the Rival Khaos surpasses them all.
The Rival Khaos blaster has a see through magazine and comes with 40 yellow foam ammunition balls. There are 4x10-round tubes that have a lock-down spring and a flip-top lid. Just flip the top, lock down the springs and you can slip the rounds in very quickly. And 11 seconds is all it takes to empty the whole magazine making the firing rate extremely fast.
When you have inserted the magazine, you squeeze the power trigger with your middle finger and the motor fires up. It is on fully automatic so by squeezing the main trigger with your index finger, you unleash a steady string of balls until the magazine is empty.
You can send off single shots or bursts too which is the best way to use it otherwise you spend more time reloading than actually shooting. The magazine feeds two flywheels by a conveyor belt that extracts rounds from the back tube first. And, just in case you jam the mechanism, there is a jam release door on the right side of the body.
The battery compartment is easy to load and secure with a cross-point screwdriver and the blaster is well balanced. But, as with all battery and flywheel blasters, it does tend to be a little noisy.
What Nerf Rival Khaos Customers Say
The good (Five Stars):
"Rev the motors up and pull back the trigger to quickly empty the magazine or deliver short bursts. With longer bursts, there is a slight drop off in distance. Though I wish they had placed some tactical rails on the sides, the rails included are well placed to use a camera or scope on top and a foregrip or light on the bottom.
The huge 40-round magazine and the conveyor belt feed have performed well with no jams or other issues so far. Distance and accuracy are comparable with other Rival blasters. While large, the design is comfortable to hold either on the shoulder or firing from the hip ..."
